Valley In Rayong Thailand

Valley In Rayong Thailand

I went to a durian farm somewhere in the wilds of Rayong with a group of friends. Of course, we picked the hottest day to possibly do this but it’s Thailand and we have 2 seasons. Hot and rainy and just hot. As you can tell we are now in the hot and rainy season with storms being common. I can’t really tell you much about durian farming other than they grow on trees, they only smell like unwashed feet…

The Burning Sunset Over The Gulf Of Thailand

The Burning Sunset Over The Gulf Of Thailand

My usual view when the skies aren’t grey and threatening rain from my condo. I was looking out my balcony and saw this, grabbed my Nikon D810. I have my Tamron 28-300 which is not the sharpest lens in the world and took the photo. When it came time to edit I was going to remove all details from the building but I put it into Aurora HDR it popped some features so I left it. In the end I…

Around Jomtien Thailand

Around Jomtien Thailand

These are just some random shots I took while I was out and about on my various travels. Nothing fancy about these, just quick edits and done. It shows the everyday Thailand that goes on when you leave the resorts and tourist destinations. Oh, for the curious, the cats are in my condo complex. They keep the vermin population down but are deathly afraid of the pigeons. While they are owned by no one, they are well taken care of…

Phra Pokklao Ariyakhet

Phra Pokklao Ariyakhet

I could explain this or I could just let the website for Wat Yanasangvararam do the heavy lifting for me. I think I will do the latter. What I do know is that I could not get close to the statue at the end due to the fact that two temple dogs weren’t thrilled with my presence and while I normally shoo them off in Thai they weren’t backing down so this is all I could get. Now for the…

A Tuk Tuk In Thailand

A Tuk Tuk In Thailand

Where I live in Thailand a tuk tuk is rare. We use songthaew’s (Baht bus), motorbike taxis, and if you are a masochist a real taxi if you wish to be triple charged for a trip. So seeing a tuk tuk is not a common sight. In fact, it’s illegal in my city to use a tuk tuk as paid transport. Businesses can use them to ferry customers from their location to another but there can be no fee. Not…

Bringing In The Morning Catch

Bringing In The Morning Catch

I didn’t want to do back-to-back fishing photos so I didn’t! This is the same spot from the photo earlier this week but taken earlier in the day while they were bringing their boats in and selling the catch that morning. I happened to go by the location this week and the beach is taped off but the boats are still up to the edge of the walkway to sell their catch to those that are in the know. Enjoy
