Angry Clouds Over Koh Larn

Angry Clouds Over Koh Larn

I’m guessing that this is Koh Larn as there is a small chain of islands off the coast here in Pattaya. Trying to orientate myself is next to impossible since I have a piss poor sense of direction on a good day. This is a typical Thailand morning here during the rainy season. You get awful light until the sun rises and then scorches your soul and apparently melts the clouds to make hellish humidity to add to your discomfort….

The Path To Enlightenment Is Fraught With Perils

The Path To Enlightenment Is Fraught With Perils

Well not really unless you are worried about a hedge poking out on the path or low hanging wires which are so common in South East Asia you don’t even register them anymore unless they are near your foot or head and could potentially be carrying voltage. The secret is most are telecom lines and not power. They just look like a jumbled, dangerous mess but in reality they are harmless. You see techs out there on bamboo ladders leaning…

Early Morning Catch

Early Morning Catch

I insanely walked the entire length of Beach Rd in Jomtien, well until I hit the police quarantine area which mandated I turn back. I was happy to turn back as I was near death anyway and I had to walk back to my bike. A distance of 10km. I am still debating on a below the knee amputation to ease my aching calves and feed. If the hospital denies my request I did buy a knife sharpener and I’m…

Tiny Reflections

Tiny Reflections

I have been exercising again, well walking around my condo complex which I discovered is freaking huge. To alleviate the boredom of said exercise I take a camera out with me. This being the mighty Sony RX100III. We have officially entered the rainy season here in Thailand but the water situation is critical. They are rationing water and cutting it off. The good thing is water is stored in tanks here and water trucks come in and fill them up….

Pachyderm

Pachyderm

I took this at a little place I refer to as Hell on Earth or Nong Nooch Gardens. I still hate the place and vow never to return. Still, I got an elephant photo and if you are wondering what a pachyderm is feel free to read on Wikipedia. Clearly, Wikipedia knows way more about the word than I do. For inquiring minds, I must tell you that elephants in large numbers rather smell. Mix that in with high heat…

Fly Into The Sun

Fly Into The Sun

I get that this one might be difficult to figure out why I named it fly into the sun. If you look you will see a bird flying towards the sunset. If you are curious, it’s a swift because even though I live right near a beach there are no seagulls here in Thailand. My theory is the damn pigeons ate them. Yes, we have beach pigeons but not a seagull in sight. I’m shocked we have soi dogs because…

It’s All About The Face

It’s All About The Face

I think the title is obvious if you know the song and with the giant face in the photo, it helps make the point. This was taken at the Sanctuary Of Truth here in Thailand. Always worth a visit when you can actually leave your home country again or something. I did make it black and white because I blew the image out because my ISO was set to 1600 from shooting inside the building and forgetting to change it…

The Door

The Door

Took this while on a ramble around town. I just found it funny that this was a door painted like that. It makes it seem so inviting and friendly. I have no real idea if the door even works. Thai health and safety standards aren’t what you call the best in the world. I’d write more but enjoy the photo for what it is. I do give the artist credit for making it an interesting door. Enjoy.
