Stroll Along The Lake

Stroll Along The Lake

This is another from the from Lake Fairfax that I shot. I had switched off to my Sony RX100M3 for a lot of the shooting as I wanted to see how it would preform shooting from a tripod and how far I could crop it down before the image quality started to drop. While I love my micro four thirds gear; for highly detailed landscapes you can see it start to lose quality in the finer details. With a large…

Where Earth Meets Sky

Where Earth Meets Sky

Having to edit on my 13″ Macbook again because there aren’t enough power outlets in my hotel room to power my USB hub and Macbook at the same time. So I just went with some simple edits which I don’t mind doing as it keeps me from going too wild on an image. Its nice to be able to be done in 2 minutes with a photo versus 2 hours. All these images were shot on my Sony RX100M3 while…

Red, White and Blue

Red, White and Blue

Not often I get excited over an image but this one just came together nicely. I was out walking back from a haircut and I saw the bridge just zoomed in to max on the camera and snapped the image. The alignment and the colors just worked out to the point it was something I got excited over. I took three images and composited them together then just did a minor curves adjustment and left it alone. Might not be…

Winter Sun

Winter Sun

Sure the images are monochromatic but as I edit them a snow storm is blowing outside. It seemed appropriate to not use color. It adds a sense of drama to the images. On a technical note, the Sony RX100M3 files have a bad habit. I will do perspective adjustments in Lightroom and when I bring them into Photoshop my perspective adjustments are gone. While both programs are supposed to have Camera Raw support for the files I’m thinking its not…

Frozen

Frozen

No not the Disney movie. Not that I would complain if I did own rights to it and was rolling in money from its production. Sadly, I just produce images of frozen rivers and not money making animated feature films. Maybe one day if I learn how to edit video. These images (mostly) are of the Potomac River looking into Washington DC or Reagan National Airport. There is a marina that I pass when I have to go to an…

Random Flowers

Random Flowers

Still going through all the flower images. Good thing I shot as much as I did because the weather has turned horrible here and shooting time is going to be limited. Slightly bummed as I have a new toy to play with. If its freezing or above in the next few days I may sneak out and play with it. Just based on my own experience running a quick errand, exposed skin does not do well in this weather. For inquiring…

Baltimore Nights

Baltimore Nights

I can only do flowers for so long before I crack. I also haven’t done a monochrome series in a long time. So if you are a lover of color and nature just stop reading now. It will save you from disappointment. Not sure how I feel about these images. They were shot on the Sony RX100 III and they look horrible in Lightroom. They were all shot at ISO 3200 and I am not sure if its the camera…
