Bridge Over Canal In Naklua

Bridge Over Canal In Naklua

This is a small canal running through a fishing village in Naklua, Thailand. This is the real Thailand off the tourist trail that most never see. There is nothing wrong with this area, in fact, it’s pretty standard for a middle-class Thai community. Just, that there isn’t a lot of infrastructure investments in these areas because it doesn’t bring in tourist revenue. Enjoy. Advertisements

Fishing Boats At Wongamat Beach

Fishing Boats At Wongamat Beach

I am clearly into small fishing boats based on all the photos I have taken recently. These boats were part of the fleet at Wongamat Beach. There were a ton onshore and I guess these came in late and needed to be moored offshore or the owners like a good swim in the morning. It’s a mystery that I have no interest in solving. I clearly just subconsciously love boats only, not the fishing. Enjoy.

Boat In The Muck

Boat In The Muck

I have come to the determination I’m fascinated by boats because I have a crapload of photos of them. This is a small crab or shrimping boat I am guessing by the traps near it that was sitting in the muck at low tide in Naklua, Thailand. There is a small fishing village that was behind me that I would have loved to wander through but it’s people’s private lives and the last thing they want is some guy wandering…

Pattaya Bay from Wongamat Beach

Pattaya Bay from Wongamat Beach

Took this while I was wandering down in Wongamat Beach. It’s actually a really good view of Pattaya Bay and Pattaya City towards Walking St. You can also see Pratumnak Hill and the ever-present spire I look out to form my own condo which is Dongtan Beach. Oh, if you are wondering you can walk down to the Pattaya City sign. There is a park up there. You can also see Pattaya’s biggest disaster which is the building to the…

Outside Terminal 21 In Pattaya

Outside Terminal 21 In Pattaya

There are planes like this outside of Terminal 21 which is a giant ass mall chain here in Thailand. I have never been in as I break out in hives when I enter a mall. Least that’s the story I am sticking with. If you are wondering what airline SCB is well I got bad news, it isn’t. SCB stands for Siam Commercial Bank which was founded by the monarchy in 1907 and still remains it’s biggest shareholder. Oh, if…

Lighthouse At Bali Hai

Lighthouse At Bali Hai

The famous or neglected lighthouse at Bali Hai in Pattaya, Thailand. Bali Hai is just the area along the shore that boats dock and there is a large pier that runs out into the Gulf of Thailand that larger ferry’s and other boats dock. It’s a tourist attraction on its own. I just haven’t gone to it because it was closed until recently. The lighthouse isn’t accessible unless you really feel like walking way too far or have a motorbike…

Modernity And Traditional In Thailand

Modernity And Traditional In Thailand

This was taken off Wongamat Beach in Thailand. It’s interesting to see a full-blown local fishing area next to these very expensive tourist and ex-pat condos. The condos are all private beaches that are maintained and Wongamat is a rocky little beach used mostly by locals because parking and public access is so limited. It’s a bit of a contrast that lends it’s self to the real Thailand and not the postcard images the tourist industry wants you to see….

Fishing Boat Off Naklua

Fishing Boat Off Naklua

I was down in Naklua just goofing off and taking photos. Naklua is very much a Thai fishing area more than a tourist area. So there is a lot more fishing stuff down that way than there is in Jomtien where I live. However, you can see the condos and hotels and that rising spire behind them is the Sanctuary Of Truth.
