Why I Sold My Fuji X100S

Why I Sold My Fuji X100S

I don’t often write much on this site except a paragraph or two. I mostly focus on the images and let them talk for me. I write enough at work and for other projects that pontification here seems redundant. With that out of the way I am going to talk about why I sold my Fuji X100S. First off I want to say I don’t have anything negative to say about the camera. If you are a Fuji user then…

Bethesda – Final

Bethesda – Final

Wrapping up my little tour of Bethesda around my office building. I wanted to get away from the glitz and glamour that is the main business and shopping areas and move to the older historic Bethesda.  No less nice, but not all modernized yet.  These images were shot on my Fuji X100s and my Sigma DP1.  The images shot on the Fuji have some perspective issues that were mostly fixed in post but there are still some “anomalies” because the…

Red Tulip Loco

Red Tulip Loco

The plan was to spend quality time with the Fuji X100S this week.  I like to switch up camera systems just because I can.  Sadly the weather hasn’t agreed with that agenda.  Where I live has been pounded by rain for the past 3 days so when it was sunny out I took the opportunity to run out and shoot.  I would see these tulips as I drove into work and I figured with the crap weather and everyone tired…

Fall Lights

Fall Lights

I had a request for some fall colors from someone in sunny and dare I say warm Florida.  I saw this lam and I liked the leaves around it against the blue sky and the green plant thingies on the wall behind it.  I will say now that this is straight out of the Fuji X100S with nothing but some clarity and sharpness added for my tastes and some contrast.  Meaning, that sky was that blue without me manipulating it…

Perfection

Perfection

It’s not often that I won’t edit a picture here and there.  About the only thing I really did to this one was add some vignetting.  This is straight out of the Fuji X100S which is rapidly becoming the love of my life.  I slapped it into macro mode by a simple double bump of the macro button and done.  These are not shot in raw either, straight jpeg out of the camera.  This is perfection.

Faded Angel

Faded Angel

While in Florida I went to a flea market with my Mom and her dog, mainly for the dog whose idea of exercise is walking in the backyard.  She gets toured around and by the end is exhausted.  I took the opportunity to play with the Fuji X100S.  This is almost straight out of the camera jpeg except for some cropping and me adding contrast because I like it that way.  I have it set to over-expose 1/3 of a…

Flying the Stormy Skies

Flying the Stormy Skies

I know, it seems like I have only been in airports the last few days but I also shot some other things.  The airport stuff is kinda cool in that you get some dramatic views if you take the time to look out the window.  This was shot while waiting for the flight home.  That was a typical south west Florida storm that is furious rain for about an hour and then gone.  When I touched down in gloomy Virginia…
