Lighthouse At Bali Hai

Lighthouse At Bali Hai

The famous or neglected lighthouse at Bali Hai in Pattaya, Thailand. Bali Hai is just the area along the shore that boats dock and there is a large pier that runs out into the Gulf of Thailand that larger ferry’s and other boats dock. It’s a tourist attraction on its own. I just haven’t gone to it because it was closed until recently. The lighthouse isn’t accessible unless you really feel like walking way too far or have a motorbike…

Welcome Arch To Pattaya Beach

Welcome Arch To Pattaya Beach

Normally I would try and center a photo like this by walking my happy ass out to the correct spot. In this case, I am not partial to trying to kill myself via bike or car so I took it on the side of the road. Since its the major entrance to Pattaya Beach Rd. from that direction it’s a busy little stretch of road. After the two bikes went by a plethora of cars came rolling in. It was…

The Burning Sunset Over The Gulf Of Thailand

The Burning Sunset Over The Gulf Of Thailand

My usual view when the skies aren’t grey and threatening rain from my condo. I was looking out my balcony and saw this, grabbed my Nikon D810. I have my Tamron 28-300 which is not the sharpest lens in the world and took the photo. When it came time to edit I was going to remove all details from the building but I put it into Aurora HDR it popped some features so I left it. In the end I…

Around Jomtien Thailand

Around Jomtien Thailand

These are just some random shots I took while I was out and about on my various travels. Nothing fancy about these, just quick edits and done. It shows the everyday Thailand that goes on when you leave the resorts and tourist destinations. Oh, for the curious, the cats are in my condo complex. They keep the vermin population down but are deathly afraid of the pigeons. While they are owned by no one, they are well taken care of…

Phra Pokklao Ariyakhet

Phra Pokklao Ariyakhet

I could explain this or I could just let the website for Wat Yanasangvararam do the heavy lifting for me. I think I will do the latter. What I do know is that I could not get close to the statue at the end due to the fact that two temple dogs weren’t thrilled with my presence and while I normally shoo them off in Thai they weren’t backing down so this is all I could get. Now for the…

Early Morning Catch

Early Morning Catch

I insanely walked the entire length of Beach Rd in Jomtien, well until I hit the police quarantine area which mandated I turn back. I was happy to turn back as I was near death anyway and I had to walk back to my bike. A distance of 10km. I am still debating on a below the knee amputation to ease my aching calves and feed. If the hospital denies my request I did buy a knife sharpener and I’m…

Open To Go Only

Open To Go Only

This was part of my wandering around with a Sony A7R and manual focus lenses. Not sure what is going on but the picture quality isn’t great on the A7R. I will try the adapted lenses on another camera. This photo was taken with an Oshiro 35mm f/2. I have used it before and had great results but who the hell knows. I also used an older than dirt Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 and had the same problem. I came…
