Blossoms And Jefferson

Blossoms And Jefferson

With the National Cherry Blossoms are doubt this year due to a late snow storm that may have wiped them out. No one knows for sure but the cold spell is not fun this late in the year. I shot this last year during when the cherry blossoms were blooming. It really isn’t balanced which is why I didn’t publish it. The branches domain at the left side and there is a big empty space on the top left. The…

Blossoms For A Foodie

Blossoms For A Foodie

This will be the last cherry blossom related image I believe. This was the last image I shot form the excursion and I was happily at my car. I believe the building in the image is part of the United States Department of Agriculture on Independence Ave. but I could be horribly wrong but I will blame Google Maps since it’s where I looked. In DC the food trucks are common now and they seem a popular choice for people who…

Monument Rising

Monument Rising

Might have a couple more shots left for this stuff but this may be the last image from that shoot. I have a backlog of new stuff to go through and with the various bits and bobs I shoot on my meanderings that I engage in. I have actually shot the Washington Monument before at nearly identical spot. At the time I had no native Sony FE lenses and was using some adapted Minolta glass that I sold. This one was…

Blossoms on Branches

Blossoms on Branches

Think I’ll be wrapping up the various Cherry Blossom stuff with a few more images. There aren’t many left and I have a backlog of newer stuff that I have shot that I need to move on to. This was not an easy shot to get regardless of how it looks. The issue was the wind and at the time I didn’t think to just increase the shutter speed to freeze it. So live nad learn. I was freezing by…

Cherry Blossom and the Monument

Cherry Blossom and the Monument

Not sure how I feel about this image. To be honest I’m tired which isn’t the best time to edit a photo but I liked it enough to attempt it. The weird color difference in the Washington Monument isn’t the camera’s meter doing something funky, the Washington Monument is two different colors. I believe it has to do with the repairs that were required after it was damaged in an earthquake (ironically enough I was in California when that happened)….

Blossoms On The Water

Blossoms On The Water

Behold! There are cherry blossoms! Along with a plethora of people who clearly did not recognize that a my presence was there and needed to get the hell out of my frame. Then again, I was across the water from them so they likely didn’t pick me out from the plethora of people on my side of the water either. These trees were on the Virginia side of the Potomac river. I was shooting from the DC side. It really…

Dawns Morning Light

Dawns Morning Light

I want to say that it Crystal City in the background of this image. Not sure what the bridge is. I was shooting from the Washington DC side of the Potomac. I liked how the city was framed by the Cherry Blossoms and the bridge was centered along with the water going smooth because of the long exposure. The more I edit out the images with the Sony 24-240 the more I love that lens for travel and landscape photography….

Morning Cherry Blossoms

Morning Cherry Blossoms

The sun has just risen and it was effectively daylight when I shot this picture of the cherry blossoms. The moon was still in the sky and it was originally in this image but I had to take it out just because it was so bright it didn’t blend into the rest of the image. Use your imagination and visualize it between the two trees. That’s where it originally was. One of the joys of doing any type of nature…

In Bloom

In Bloom

The title of this one goes out to Nirvana for being inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.  Yet, as promised, the flowers are in bloom.  To be perfectly honest I didn’t put a lot of effort into this set.  I was out for a walk while at work.  I was like why sit inside on a nice day when I can go out and take pictures and get paid.  I call that winning.  So with my EM5…
