Pattaya Bay from Wongamat Beach

Pattaya Bay from Wongamat Beach

Took this while I was wandering down in Wongamat Beach. It’s actually a really good view of Pattaya Bay and Pattaya City towards Walking St. You can also see Pratumnak Hill and the ever-present spire I look out to form my own condo which is Dongtan Beach. Oh, if you are wondering you can walk down to the Pattaya City sign. There is a park up there. You can also see Pattaya’s biggest disaster which is the building to the…

Lighthouse At Bali Hai

Lighthouse At Bali Hai

The famous or neglected lighthouse at Bali Hai in Pattaya, Thailand. Bali Hai is just the area along the shore that boats dock and there is a large pier that runs out into the Gulf of Thailand that larger ferry’s and other boats dock. It’s a tourist attraction on its own. I just haven’t gone to it because it was closed until recently. The lighthouse isn’t accessible unless you really feel like walking way too far or have a motorbike…

The Boat

The Boat

Everyone has this idea that Thailand is a natural paradise full of wonder and pristine beaches. Oh, how wrong you are. That would be the TAT or Tourist Association of Thailand making you think that with carefully staged shots and the magic of Photoshop. When you live here you see a lot more of the real Thailand than they ever want you to see. It’s dirty and polluted like you would not believe. So when I took this image, I…

Sheltered

Sheltered

It was the first time I had gotten the nerve up to ride a bike there. All previous trips I relied on public transportation. With this trip I was with my friend who was an experienced rider. We…

The Distant Lighthouse

The Distant Lighthouse

It seems that with me moving my photo library to it’s new drive I found more images to edit. In fact, I shockingly did a series for later this week. Plus it’s now cold and I miss Thailand where all these images are from. I shot this from the Bali Hai pier using my Canon S100. I have shot the lighthouse before but much closer not from this angle. I was just standing there and I thought it looked cool with…

Waves Crashing

Waves Crashing

This was shot off Bali Hai. I have no idea what the structure is. In Thailand there are lots of incomplete public works that just sit there as monoliths to the unfinished. With this one, with the sun setting and Gulf of Thailand waters looking blue it seemed like a good time to take the picture. The interesting thing about this one was I had a whole CCTV crew installing a new camera in the area I was shooting. I…
