Birds Of A Feather

I am back in the US visiting from Thailand. I am still here in the US so taking some of the time a trip was scheduled to the Naples Zoo. Not being a wildlife photographer and having to shoot through cages made things interesting. I was in manual focus for a good chunk of these images. Factor in moving animals and me in too low of an ISO made thing less then perfect but good enough to share out!

Enjoy

Where Eagles Dare

This could be a reference to the movie with the same name or more importantly; the Iron Maiden song. Take your pick on whatever makes you happier.

I will say that this series was like shooting on white seamless. It’s just the sky behind the lights and the light fooling the meter. Interesting effect that isolates the subject.

Enjoy.

Seagulls

I was trying to be witty with something like the Flock of Seagulls but nothing is coming to me. So the bland name of seagulls was decided on.

I was in downtown Washington DC on a super secret photo project (not really on super secret) and I walked out of where I was shooting and saw these three. Seagulls in DC aren’t afraid of humans so I was only a few feet (a meter) away from them. I had my 60mm (120 equivalent) macro lens (hint on super not secret project) which also makes an excellent portrait lens and took these shots.

Enjoy the seagulls.
