The San Fernando Cathedral

The San Fernando Cathedral

This is another old one from the archives I never edited. This is obviously the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, Texas. I never really liked the image and at the time my edited skills didn’t allow me to edit it the way I wanted to. Plus the software at the time was crap. I shot it for HDR so I had bracketed the photo and I used to do 5 at a time using an Olympus EM-1. Forget the software I used but I hated it.

Moving into 2020 I have learned to edit a wee bit more than I did back then. I also don’t use the brackets at all. If you see HDR from me it’s just one image and I use Aurora 2019. Good stuff. So yes, this is HDR but it’s not over the top. I used it to bring out the details of the cathedral more than anything.

Enjoy

  1. I love to look at interesting architecture, but I am not sure I like this one. The big rectangular prisms on each side seem unnecessarily overwhelming. It could use a good power wash, but I guess that is part of the charm. Thanks for sharing.

    1. I just edited it because I never could before. Trust me, more “visually” interesting crap is on the way. I have been editing my fingers off between naps and TV. Most of next week has been knocked out already. I roll that way.
