I had to do a trip to West Virginia so I brought my camera along to take some shots along the way. I stopped at a bunch of different locations and fired off some shots until the weather closed in and I ended up driving in pouring rain for about 90 minutes.
This is a small lake along the road. I stopped off and grabbed the camera and took a few shots. I got lucky with the sky and the mountains reflecting off the water perfectly. One of the joys in shooting in rural is that the bugs were all over me. People likely thought I was nuts as I kept waving my camera around my head to get rid of the pests.
Editing wise I put in a curves adjustment and then went with layers. I masked in at different opacities to get the effect I was looking for. Then I dodged and burned what I needed to bring out a bit more here and there.
For inquiring minds I shot this on my Nikon D810 and my 16-35mm lens.
