Stretching Into Blue

Feeling a bit abstract with this image. It’s a lot of blue only broken up by the bridge. Still, I liked it because you get a sense of depth because the sky and the river seem to stretch into one.

Editing wise I had to scale back a bit. I went with a lower key but whenever you have a lot of the blue channel in an image you get noise. Sure I can scrub it out but the photo was shot at ISO 100 so if I did it would look a bit unnatural so what was there I left. I did mask in a bit on the river to give it a bit more texture along with the bridge. I didn’t touch the sky at all because of noise so I put a hue/saturation mask in and said done!

This will be the last image until Tuesday July, 5th. It’s a long weekend here in the United States so I am going to take advantage of it and take a break from editing. I really would like to focus on getting a few series together and I know one is going to take a significant amount of time just based on what it is. So instead of rushing it I rather just take a couple days off and start fresh with a few days to edit the series.

See you next Tuesday and enjoy!

  1. I love the photo of the sky light over the Caloosahatchee River. You never seem to notice the beauty all around us. I enjoyed!
